In the Waiting Room

December 23, 2006 at 9:35 am (General Life, The Big Move)

I feel like I’m in some weird life-waitingroom.

Work ended yesterday.

I move Wednesday.

Today’s going to be spent packing. I shipped off five boxes of stuff yesterday (costing me about $270 to ship…ouch!). My bro Saul bought me some of those vacuum packing bags to get more stuff packed in my suitcases. We’ll see  how those work. I’m watching MSNBC and seeing all the troubles at the airport – seems like it has that every year.

…time to catch up. I haven’t been blogging much this week. It’s been rather hectic. Here’s the updates on the goings on in Sarah-ville.

My face hurts.

December 4, 2006 at 10:45 am (General Life, Teaching)

In the last two hours or so, I’ve developed this awful jaw and face pain. I’m hoping it’s just my sinuses, and not some kind of tooth issue. (I was told last year to have my wisdoms removed, since they were set in my jaw sideways. I was given the option to “wait and see”, since I was 26, and they hadn’t moved at all. My dad gets a kick out of the fact that I am 27 and still have no wisdom teeth.)

I’m thinking it’s more sinus, since both side of my jaw, my cheeks, my throat, and my eyes hurt. It’s about a 6 out of 10, with 10 being “oh my god kill me now” pain.

I’ve decided not to aggrivate it more, so I’m writing everything down instead of talking to my students. They’re getting a kick out of it. I’ve also noticed that they are quieter because of it…like if they were too loud, they couldn’t read what I wrote. Hehe.

The thing that sucks is that my Dad made churico (portuguese sausage) and peppers for dinner last night, and I have the leftovers along with some hard rolls for dinner. Yeah. Hard rolls.

My Myspace

December 3, 2006 at 7:14 pm (General Life)

Well, the kids at work have been bugging me for years to get a MySpace. And now that I’m leaving, I feel a little more comfy doing it.

On this Thanksgiving day…

November 23, 2006 at 10:47 am (General Life)

I am thankful that Emma is healthy, safe, and happy. I’m thankful that she took me as her wife, and has been able to successfully find us a home to live in. I’m thankful that she talks to me everyday and always tells me she loves me.

I am thankful that I still have my Mom and Dad in my life, and that they’ve always been supportive of me. I’m thankful that they are still in love with eachother, and let me know that not all relationships end in divorce.

I’m thankful I have three unique, talented brothers. I’m thankful that we all get a long so well, and stick up for eachother as much now as when we were in grade school.  I’m thankful that they make me proud.

I’m thankful for having a dog. She shows me that most problems can be overcome with either food, play, or belly tickles.

I’m thankful for having co-workers who listen to me. I’m thankful that they say that they are sad to see me go, but completely understand why I’m leaving. I’m thankful they make me coffee when I forget about it.

I’m thankful for having in-laws that remind me how lucky I am.

These are the days I wish my Mom would still take care of me.

100+ fever
vomiting everything up
light sensitivity
sound sensitivity
body aches

Not fun.

Too much coffee at 3pm means stomach aches and vomit at 3am.

Unusual Sleeping Patterns

November 14, 2006 at 12:03 pm (General Life)

I’ve found myself with this weird sleeping patterns lately. Come to think of it, it’s ever since Emma left.

I go to sleep somewhere between 8 and 10pm. I sleep right through until about 2am, where I’m up for about 2 hours. I get up, watch some tv, do some internet. Then about 4am rolls around and I’m tired again. I go back to sleep until my alarm goes off at 6am.

We’re talking everyday for like two weeks straight. Not complaining, since I wake up more refreshed than when I used to sleep the whole night (9ish to 6am).
